Steps to reproduce:
Feature request.
Sending outbound SMTP mail - works as expected currently. The configured outbound SMTP server is contacted and email is given to our outbound server for processing.
Expected results:
Forget using the outbound SMTP server, lookup MX records for the destination email address and contact them directly.
as far as I know the protocol is the same as contacting local SMTP server. Receiving SMTP server does not care if the connection comes from our local SMTP relay or from the Thunderbird directly.
I don't know why we would need to use local SMTP servers anymore.
